As for Florence, things so far have been quite different than I'd imagined. I'm still very much in the 'just letting it all soak in' state of mind. No judgements just yet. At first our gathering assignment seemed like a somewhat daunting task, but it's definitely forced me to keep my 'eyes peeled,' as my mother always says (kind of a gross expression...). There are so many funny, quirky, and beautiful things in this city; i get the feeling i still havent even scratched the surface...

Our class is called Home: Space or Place. It is a studio art class for Washington University sophomores in their study abroad program. Our class has 25 students and 2 teachers. We are using this blog as a communication and cataloging tool for our creative process.
