Maggie McLoughlin's italian adventures

Italy has been buon felicitas for the most part. The best sight so far has been Ravenna with it amazing mosaics. they were over the top and entirley too sophisticated not to be taken seriously...but they had rainbows and animals jumpng through hoops which kept everything from sliding to overly pretentious. The Duomo was pretty sweet but its kinda ridiculous...like it stormed one day and God coughed up a giant building and it landed in the middle of florence...probably smooshed some nice construction workers and a tourist or two. Lifes been nice, new, at times lonely (in my homestay I don't communicate well in italian so I sometimes am just cut off in the wind) and always a wee bit cold. I can't wait to see a nutrient along the arno, i read a book when i was a kid where the main character was a river rat named mike or something. hope things are good with you. the blurry pic is a cat that was crawling around the etruscan ruins like a mystical protector, quite friendly.
